2 Peter 1:10  Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:

Ephesians 5:15-16  Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise,  (16)  making the best use of the time, because the days are evil.

Philippians 2:12  Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

Hebrews 4:11  Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

Hebrews 6:11  And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end:

We are spiritually living in very dangerous times. If you are like me, you have heard it so many times that it almost ceases to bear any warning.
Yes, there are wars and rumors of wars, but Christ says those are not the things to be spiritually fearful of:

Mat 24:6  You are going to hear of wars and rumors of wars. See to it that you are not alarmed. These things must take place, but the end hasn't come yet,

He also tells us to not be fearful of the killing of our bodies:

Luke 12:4-5  "But I tell you, my friends, never be afraid of those who kill the body and after that can't do anything more.  (5)  I'll show you the one you should be afraid of. Be afraid of the one who has the authority to throw you into hell after killing you. Yes, I tell you, be afraid of him!

There are spiritual blessings and rewards when true followers of Christ (that is, those that are followers in words, life and actions, that are not dependent upon whether they are seen, known, acknowledged or rewarded) are troubled and persecuted  for Christ (not persecution because of trouble we ourselves started or got ourselves into, and then claim "Well, the bible says Christians will be persecuted....")
Daniel 7:21, Daniel 8:24,  (is not referring to those who practice Judaism) Matthew 5:11, Luke 11:49, Luke 15:20, Luke 21:6, Luke 21:12, Luke 21:16-17, Rev 13:7,
We need to be mindful in being vigilant in doing those things that keep our hearts, minds and soul from being stayed in the things of the devil, and diligent in keeping our hearts, minds and spirit active and stayed on the things of God and Christ, always seeking the empowerment that comes from the Spirit of God alone.
