2 Timothy 3:1-7
But know this, that in the last days grievous times will be upon us. (2) For men will be lovers of themselves, money-lovers, braggarts, arrogant, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, (3) without natural feeling, unyielding, slanderers, without self-control, savage, haters of good, (4) betrayers, reckless, puffed up, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, (5) having a form of godliness, but denying the power of it; even turn away from these. (6) For of these are those creeping into houses and leading silly women captive, the ones having been heaped with sins, being led away by various lusts, (7) always learning, but never being able to come to a full knowledge of the truth.
1 John 4:5
They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world hears them.
And many will follow their destructive ways, by whom the way of truth will be evil spoken of. (3) And by covetousness, with well-turned words, they will use you for gain, for whom judgment of old does not linger, and their destruction does not slumber.
Trump has CONSISTENTLY and mean spiritedly fired people of his own administration (that he himself hand picked)having sung the highest praises for them only a few months or even days before being fired! Everything he says is subjective to how he HIMSELF chooses to interpret it from one day to the other! It's not a secret Trump clearly worships money.
1 Timothy 6:9-11
But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. (10) For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. (11) But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.
If the Biblical Christ were REALLY our standard, would we act the way we do individually and as a nation?? Would we accept the actions of other people who claim to be Christian? Would we continue to be silent?
Christians are called to make Jesus Christ our one and only measure, and the Bible as our guide. This is what it means to have Christ as both Savior and Lord.
We are set apart from the ways and the spirit that is in the world (Satan and his angels) and called to walk according to the ways of Christ depending on His Spirit for empowerment and the Bible for guidance.
