Rom 9:6-8 KJV 6 Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel: 7 Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called. 8 That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.
It's greatly more difficult for God's truth to be seen and understood when we insist on doing it in OUR terms, from our feet being cemented in a political party, and denominational positions. They are LITERALLY filters by which God's truth gets disseminated.
The point of Romans 11 is to confirm all Israel is if grace from the very beginning, and not earned. Grace did not begin with Christ coming into the world. He reiterated in Matthew 15:8, what was stated in Isaiah 29:13, they praise me with their lips (words, law, legal) but their hearts (actions, spirit, emotions)are far from me. The Logos did not enter into the world to show the way for Israel to be more religious and lawful. In a sense, think of salvation (those who endure in the faith until the end, Matt 10:22, 24:13) as a club, not a birth right( Exodus 12:48-49 Ezek 47:22). ALL (the Greek word PAS,)who choose to believe and walk in HIS ways are Israel. The name Israel means GOD prevails.
