Masquerade

3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. 14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. 15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

The trouble at Hillsong N.Y didn't start nor end with Carl Lentz, but rather with the whole culture of that brand of "Christianity", and make NO mistake, Hillsong IS a brand!
"Carl caught the culture from Brian,” the former staffer says. “Carl is like a Brian Houston mini-me,” the former employee says, observing the church leader’s Sunday routine: ...."
I am sure Hillsong head pastor, Brian Houston was well aware of what was transpiring. The mistake Lentz made which led to Houston disavowing him, was letting the exploits get into the media and bringing a spotlight on Hillsong and Houston.
We have to be careful and mindful not to let people speaking with much emotionalism and charisma deceive us into believing they are speaking in the power and authority of our Heavenly Father, Yahovah. For just as Satan and his minions masquerade as angels of light, so to does does charisma and emotionalism masquerade as godly authority.
Can ministers and preachers be emotional and charismatic? Of course! But it will NEVER be the hallmark or standard of Yahovah's truth! Truth is many times found in His still, small voice. Preaching Truth is not centered on excitement or entertainment. Truth doesn't always make us feel "happy" or give us goosebumps. That's this world's truth. That's how the prince of this world lures us in and keeps us coming back like addicts looking for their next fix.
And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

Note
I will explain the sound reasoning for my use of Yahovah as the creators name at a later time. No, I am not a "Hebrew name only" nor any other type of "Messianic" falsehoods.
